Cupcake Mafia Interview

Hey Dolls! so I got the oportunity to interview  Ms.skittlez , the owner of a great clothing line ,Cupcake mafia. I wanted to share this company with you guys because I know there are some of you that read this blog that would like to own a clothing line as well own a business someday, and I thought this would be a great oppurtunity  for you all to gain information from someone doing just that! Hence getting to know the person behind the brand you'll get a better feel for the brand itself.
ENJOY! :)

1. Please tell a little about yourself.
A: Skittlez is very outgoing and driven, a type of person that will not fail.Im very different in so many aspects. Not only do I see myself as a major icon in the street fashion world but others do to, from my bright colors to just simply my style.I use to be into music, which most people wouldn't know.Im a very loving person overall who is strictly about my business

2.How did you get your start as a designer?
A:Well, I first started as stylist, I always wore dope t's and I realized it wasn't enough urban street style t's to wear. I wanted to find a way to re invent these shirts by making them fun to wear, so thats exactly what I did.

3.What design are you most proud of and why?
A: I am proud of all of my designs but Im most proud of what it stands for, which is donating to a breast cancer foundation. You may not have knew that 20% of our proceeds actually go to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.

4.What/who are your inspirations?
A: Jeffrey Campbell is definitely one of my designer inspirations because I understand his story and where he came from and where he is now. My story is very similar to his, he's my motivation.

5. How would you describe your style?
A: My style is very different, whatever I decide to pick I just put on, I usually don't care about what people think of me, thats what makes me stand out.

6. What are your future goals for your brand ?
A: My future goals for my brand is to later open a flag ship store and release collaborations that we've been working on.Just to make my brand the number 1 female street wear brand in the country period.

7. What do you think sets you apart from your competition?
A: What really sets my brand apart from others is that we really care about our customers, we frequently talk to them and let them know we appreciate them in more ways than one, to traveling to different events and being able to talk to them face to face, to even being responsive with them on social media sites.

8. What motivates/inspires you?
A: What motivates me is being able to take my family and friends to places they never been and also exposing them to things they never done.

9. What do you like most about your work?
A: I love the ability to create products for girls that aren't currently on the market.Basically bringing street wear back to life.

10.What advice do you have for aspiring designers
A: Remember to always believe in your self more than anybody else because thats what matters the most. Be passionate about what you do and never copy people. Always be creative so you will stand out from others

Illustration of the Day

In this illustration , I  decided to incorporate some of my favorite colors for the summer as well as the fall! Including my staple color Coral and its complimentary color olive green and some refreshing teal and aquamarine  as well as some classic black to add a chic touch, and who doesnt love the color gold? with these colors I decided to add spice to her hair by making it the roots dark with hues in her locks of  platinum blonde to embrace a bombshell look. and to finish it a lilac purple poute! she's giving face!

Floral Flavor!!

Soo for summer I decided to make me some floral glasses! for for a twist I decided to add spikes, I think it gives them more personality. I recieved such positive feed back that im considering making them for people as well but arent these re-freshing, not in a snobish way though. I think I will be on this trend for a while lol. I will have a Tutorial on this coming up soon! :)
